A Passion for Helping Children

Dr. Garlock was hand-selected to be on the Cleft Lip Palate, Craniofacial Anomaly Team at the renowned Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He worked with plastic surgeons, ENTs, audiologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, pediatricians, pediatric dentists, and prosthodontists to coordinate the care of these amazing children with special needs. He has a passion for these kids. He loves the challenge of problem-solving complex cases as well as the opportunity to provide a positive experience for them:

I love treating children with special needs because they are so grateful for the help, and they desperately need it. It feels good to truly make a difference in these kids’ lives.

Dr. Garlock’s training gave him the extraordinary experience of treating the most severe orthodontic problems,

assuring him that with the right health care provider, anyone can be helped to achieve a healthier, more confident smile.
Dr. Garlock has been published in the premier orthodontic research journal: The American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. He has conducted multiple research studies, most recently on the use of cone-beam computed tomography (3D CT scans) to evaluate the effects of orthodontic treatment on the jaw. His extensive research stems from his passion for providing the best possible treatment to his patients:

I wanted to find out if the way certain orthodontists were treating their patients was either harming or helping their patients. I knew that by using this advanced 3-dimensional technology to evaluate hundreds of patients, I would be able to get answers to my questions. More importantly, I knew this process would help me become a better orthodontist and consequentially better serve my patients.
